Our bindweed mites experiment.
150 grams of bindweed mite infected bindweed vines were obtained from the State of Colorado "request-a-bug" program in July 2025. These short strands were twisted around the bindweed vines in the garden, and labelled with colored ribbons. Notice below how some leafs appear to have been eaten
We still don't know exactly what is causing the whitening of the bindweed leaves, and the areas in them that have been consumed. One bindweed leaf has been examined under a microscope, which seems to reveal circular/spherical growths. But we are not sure if these are indicative of bindweed eggs or galls, or some other organism.
